How to completely remove a printer in QuickBooks

It takes two steps to uninstall a printer and its driver from your computer. To delete the driver files using the Printer Management app or PowerShell, you must first uninstall the printer from Windows.

Step 1: Remove the printer by using Settings

• In Windows 10, follow these steps to remove a printer:
• in Windows 10’s Settings.
• Decide on Devices.
• Pick Printers & Scanners from the menu.
• Select the printer you wish to uninstall from the “Printers & scanners” section.

Step 3: Using PowerShell, remove the printer driver

The Print Management app is not available in Windows 10 Home, but you can still uninstall the driver quite simply using PowerShell. These guidelines are also applicable to Windows 10 Pro.

Use these steps to remove a print driver using PowerShell:

• Launch Start.
• Right-click the first result from your search for PowerShell and choose “Run as administrator.”
• To view a list of every print driver installed on Windows 10 type the command below and hit Enter: Get-PrinterDriver | List-Name Format
• To uninstall the print driver, type the following command and hit Enter.
• “Your-Printer-Name” as the value for Remove-PrinterDriver
• Update the printer name in the command to the name that appears in step No. 3. If the name contains spaces, quotation marks are necessary.

The printer driver won’t be available on the system after you finish the steps. If you need to uninstall additional printers on Windows 10, you might need to repeat these steps.

Using the Uninstaller to Remove:

1: From the [] (Start) menu, select [Control Panel].

For Windows 10:

• Choose [Settings] > [System] > [Apps & features] > Click [Uninstall] in the driver’s uninstaller. move on to step 3.
• For Windows 8/8.1, Server 2012, and Server 2012 R2:
• Click [Settings] > [Control Panel] to display the charm bar on the [Desktop] screen.

2: Select the uninstaller for the driver you want to remove by clicking [Programs] > [Uninstall a program] and then [Uninstall] or [Uninstall/Change].

For Windows Vista/Server 2008:

• Click [Programs] > [Programs and Features] Select [Uninstall a program] and the driver’s uninstaller, then click [Uninstall].

3: Click [Delete] after choosing the name of the device you want to uninstall.

[Clean up]: By selecting this, you will simultaneously remove all files and registry records associated with every driver shown in the list, not just the one you’ve chosen. For a standard uninstallation of the driver, click [Delete].
