• Go to the View tab and select the checkbox Hidden Items. (In case you use Windows 7 or Vista, go to Organize and select Folder and Search Option)
• Next, go to the left panel of the window and opt for This PC/Computer. Copy and paste this address in the address bar: C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit\QBPOSShell.exe…\{last modified folder}.
• You will see a file named config. Change its name to user.configobsolete.
• Finally, shut down the whole program and open QuickBooks to run Point of Sale uninterruptedly.

2. Second Method: Creating a new Admin for your Windows

Here are the steps to create a new administrator for your windows:

• Go to the Start menu and opt for Control Panel.
• Opt for User Accounts and Family Safety, navigate to User Accounts and opt it.
• Go to Manage Another Account. There you will find the option Add a new user in PC Setting, click on it. Now, add a new user.
• In the sign in option, select Sign in without a Microsoft Account. Select Local Account in the next option.
• Now, type a username in the black field. Do not type anything in the password field. Click on Next and then
• Shut down the Windows 7, turn it on again and sign in with the new administrator credentials.
• Finally, you can open QuickBooks Point of Sale.

3. Third Method: Initializing The QBPOS Application Log

You can resolve this error by initializing the QBPOS application log with the following steps:

• In the first step, open the Task Manager 
• Now, you have to end the undertaking for the QBPOSShell by selecting the QBPOSShell
• Then, hit the right-click on the Earned and choose End Process

Try to make a copy of the user.config before renaming it. This record may get corrupted as a result of renaming. In like manner, this is an essential report and QB POS will crash without it. • Once you have been done, then restart the system then sign in with a new administrator account
• The final step is to open the QuickBooks POS desktop.
