New Feature Introduced to QuickBooks Online Accountant

QuickBooks has announced that it will be adding all new free Practice Management tools and feature into QuickBooks Online Accountant. This tool will have significant impact on the way accountants are using this online accounting tool. The new dashboard will enable users to access most functionalities directly from the home screen.

According to an article by Business Wire, Rich Preece head of the accounting segment of Intuit for Small Businesses said, “The Practice Management features in QuickBooks Online Accountant allow accountants to seamlessly track and coordinate all the work associated with their clients and firm, in one place, to help ensure nothing falls through the cracks.” Preece also mentioned that that collaboration with clients and partners would be substantially easier.

The addition to their online accounting portal comes just after a few weeks of the Small Business Week. While QuickBooks has other features such as Communication tool and multi user mode that enable collaboration, still this feature will be bring significant improvements to QB online accountant.

Further, Intuit seems to have taken a mobile first approach while redesigning the dashboard. The new features and dashboard will be fully mobile responsive and enable a great experience for users trying to access QB through their smartphones.

1. Better Organization

You aren’t an accountant if you cannot organize work and data correctly. Accountants endeavor hard to organize data and workflow in order to avoid discrepancies and inaccuracies. Intuit realized this and created multiple functionalities that can help users in organizing their workflow easily.

Well, just create a new job/ project card. Project cards can be subdivided further into multiple tasks. These tasks can then be assigned to particular members of your team.

Check their schedule for the week and assign task accordingly. You can also check the tasks assigned to each member of your team. Further, users can enter comprehensive details for each and every project and task.

D. Want to know how much of the project is complete?

Well that’s what the progress bars are there to tell you. These progress bars can be updated with information by each of your team members. They can update the percentage of task completed by accessing the progress bar.

E. What’s in it for the users?

Users can update their status as available or blocked. Your work schedule is full? Just select block and other users won’t be able to assign tasks to you.

2. Centralized Management

Prior to the introduction of this features, users could only view the status of their accounts through a few summary reports. There wasn’t much a user would have been able to do through the dashboard. By analysing the problems faced by accountants, Intuit came to the conclusion that a centralized system would be much better for performing accounting activities

Users can now create reports and job cards directly through the dashboard. You can also edit these forms.

3. Rhombus and Secure

Integrate your email in order to coordinate with clients directly through QuickBooks. Users can also send and receive data through the secure network created by QuickBooks online. Data security will no longer be an issue. Further, Intuit has taken appropriate measure to safeguard their users from ransomwares such as WannaCry. All your data on their secure servers is as far away from harm as it can be.
