Minimum requirements

• For single users and multiple users, a 2.0 GHz processor is required
• 8 GB RAM for single-user and multi-users
• 1 GB of disk space for installation; Microsoft Edge is necessary for Sage Payroll Solutions, Sage Payments Solutions, and other Connected Services integration; Google ChromeTM and Microsoft Edge (version 2020 and higher) web browsers are supported when accessing available Connected Services outside of the product.
• Windows 10 (version 21H1 and higher) or Windows 11 with the most recent updates from Microsoft installed.
• Microsoft.NET Framework 4.8; extra space needed: 280–850 MB
• SVGA video with at least high color (16 bits); Small fonts and DPI settings are necessary; the minimum resolution is 1280×800; the preferred resolution is 1440×900 or higher.
• Internet access is necessary for all online features and services (for optimal performance, download and upload rates must be at least 25 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively).
• Sage Remote Data Access companies are limited to a 5GB file size.
• The computer name is 15 characters or less is needed.

Multiuser

• 2 GB of disk space for component installation on the server; a named user account is granted a license when selected in the user maintenance screen.
• A maximum of five licensed named users are allowed for Sage 50 Premium Accounting and up to 40 named users for Sage 50 Quantum Accounting.

Terminal Services

To operate in a Windows Terminal Services environment, Windows Server 2016 or 2019 and the Remote Desktop Connection or Remote Desktop Web Connection client are needed; for Sage 50 Premium Accounting, no more than 5 named users or up to 40 named users are allowed. When multiple users are utilizing Windows Terminal Services, the Terminal Server needs extra memory.

How to Download Sage 50 2024

• Go to the Sage 50 download (http://support1.na.sage.com/selfservice/).
• You have to choose your product from the given list in case you cannot find your product then you have to click on see more products.
• You have to choose Sage 50 (United States) Product and then you have to select your version and edition and then you have to click on Sage 50- U.S. Edition: Download Portal.
• Now you have to click the download button and the file will be a .exe file and typically it’s named Sage 50 .exe.
• On your Desktop, you have to save the file or for easy access Downloads folder.

Installation Steps of Sage 50 2024

Preparing to install

• Check that every computer satisfies the minimal system requirements. Please refer to Sage 50 2024—U.S. Edition System Requirements.
• Close all non-essential and other Microsoft programs on the computer before starting the installation.
• During the installation process, you have to turn off your antivirus program.
• Keep your firewall activated and turn on alerts.
• Verify that the User Account Control (UAC) is at a minimal rather than a maximum setting. You might need admin access for this. Speak with IT staff if required.

Installing on a single/standalone computer

• Firstly, you have to run the downloaded installation file.
• If you see the prompt, install the requirements for Sage 50 Accounting.
• After turning off your antivirus, you have to click Next.
• Click Next after you have agreed to the license agreement.
• Click Next after selecting Auto Configure the Windows Firewall to allow Sage 50 (Recommended) box installation and operation.
• Click Next after you have confirmed or entered your serial number.
• At the query “Will this be the only computer running Sage 50?” Click Next after choosing Yes.
• You have to select the location of program files and company data files on the Install options, and then you have to click Install.
• Now complete the installation.

Note: The box will be grayed out if Windows Firewall is disabled.

Network installation instructions

Installing on the Server

• You have to download the program installation.
• Follow the installation instructions by running the downloaded installation file.
• Click Next after selecting No in response to the question “Will this be the only computer running Sage 50?”
• Choose This computer as the server from the Sage 50 Company Data Files Storage panel, then click Next.
• Check Install Options, then carry out the server installation.
• Click Next after selecting Share the Folder on the Sharing Company Data screen. 
• After finishing the installation, let the software launch and activate.
• Allow the data to be converted to the new version by opening each company.

Installing on workstations

Quick tips for network install

• Always install it on the server first.
• Unless you are in a Terminal Services environment, the application needs to be installed on every computer that will use Sage.
• Installing on multiple PCs at once is possible with the Network Installation Manager; simply begin at the first workstation and go to the others.
• Wireless networks are incompatible with the Network Installation Manager.
• The install files will be extracted into the Destination folder when using the downloadable Sage 50 installer; this is not the application location.
• To launch the network installation manager when working in a domain environment, you might need to make sure that the PeachtreeInstaller20xx folder has the proper Windows rights set.
• While Sage 50 Premium and Sage 50 Quantum Accounting can accommodate multiple users, Sage 50 Pro Accounting can not support multiple users.
• To begin an installation using a virtual machine or remote desktop connection, take the following actions:
  • Hit the Windows+R keyboard shortcut.
  • Enter %temp% and press the OK button.
  • Click the RarSFX0 folder twice.
  • Double-click the folder Peachw.
  • Click the Install folder twice.
  • To launch _setup.exe as an administrator, right-click on it and choose Run.

Activate the Sage 50 2024

• You have to go to the server or the main computer hosting the data.
• Then you have to open Sage 50.
• After that, you have to select Help and then you have to select Sage 50 Activation, Licensing, and Subscription Options.
• You have to select Change your current version and then you have to click OK. 
• Now you have to enter your new Serial Number and then you have to click OK.
• Sage will close automatically and open again. In case it does not, then you have to close Sage 50 manually and open it again.
• You have to select Help, and then you have to select About Sage 50 Accounting.
• Then you have to verify the new serial number that is displayed.

Upgrade any Sage 50 Older to the Latest Sage 50 2024

Quick tips for upgrading:

• You will not be able to use the data with the older release if you decide not to replace the older release and instead convert your data into the current version.
• The install files will be extracted into the Destination folder when using the Sage 50 installer that you downloaded.
• This is not where the last release was located. During the installation wizard, the previous install location is automatically discovered.
• Sage installation and removal do not change or remove your company’s data.
• Your company will be converted to work with the new version when you open it for the first time.
