Sage 50 is an accounting software that is used globally and is well-known by small and medium businesses for their finances. Sage 50 software comes with many features that are easy to work with. However, sometimes Sage 50 has a few errors like the “INVALID DIRECTORY PATH’ or ‘NO DATA FOUND” which occurs when the Sage 50 Software cannot be found in the data folder. To fix the Sage 50 error invalid directory path or no data found the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 should be Activated.

Causes for Sage 50 No Data Found
When the program cannot be found in the data folder & the path is no longer available in the Company file or the network connection is giving problems and is no longer accessible because of an invalid directory path Sage 50.
- The network connection is not available.
- A folder is missing in the data location
- The path is pointing to the incorrect location in the Choose Company window.
- The latest Windows Update prevents Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.

Steps to Fix The Sage 50 Error Invalid Directory Path
To fix the Sage 50 error invalid directory path double click the network drive from my computer, close the drive, and open it again.
Step 1: Check if the Windows Path is Correct
The Window Path has to be correct.
- Sage Accounts v24: Windows 7,8,10, Vista -:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2018
- Sage Accounts v23: Windows 7,8,10, Vista -:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2017
- Sage Accounts v22: Windows 7,8,10, Vista -:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2016
- Sage Accounts v21: Windows 7,8,10, Vista -:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2015
- Sage Accounts v20: Windows 7,8,10, Vista -:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2014
- Double Click on the Company File and Open with Notepad
- As Per The Requirement Modify the Pertinent line in the company file, Choose and Save the File
- Select the file again and exit.
Step 2: The Company Window Path Should be Correct
Check the Company Window Path, it should be Correct.
- The Software should be running in a compatible mode
- Right Click on Sage 50 Software
- Select Properties and Choose Compatibility
- Search for the ACCDATA Folder using the Path given in the Choose Company Tab
- One of the Folders may be missing and can be found in Sage Accounts and can be reinstated
Step 3: The Directory Path can be Generated Manually
Generate the Directory Path Manually:
- Search For C: \Program Files\ Sage\Accounts
- From File Choose New and Select the New Folder
- Write the Name of the Misplaced Folder for Example ACCDATA
- Run Sage Accounts and Finish the Active Setup once the Active Data Folder Subsists and Finally Reinstate the Previous Backup.
Step 4: Activate Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5
Invalid directory path notification has also been seen after disabling Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 in the latest Windows Updates.
- Press the Windows key + R and then type appwiz.cpl and tap on OK.
- Tap on Turn Windows features on or off.
- Uncheck the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or 3.5.1 check box, and then tap on OK. If the check box is already cleared, continue to Step 5.
- Again Tap on Turn Windows features on or off.
- Choose the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or 3.5.1 check box so that it appears as OR.
- Leave the other settings as they are and tap on OK.
- If prompted, tap on Download files from Windows Update, then click Restart now if necessary.
